Eight Arrested in Mizoram in Major Drug Operations

In a significant crackdown, at least eight people have been arrested in Mizoram's Aizawl for possession of heroin and ganja during separate operations, according to an official statement on Friday.
The arrested individuals include two from Assam's Cachar, along with one each from Manipur's Pherzawl and Aizawl, the official said.
A total of 220 grams of heroin and 105 kilograms of ganja were seized during three coordinated operations executed by excise officials and Assam Rifles personnel on Thursday.
The ganja was reportedly being smuggled from Meghalaya and Tripura, the official added.
All eight arrested have been booked under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, he confirmed.
