Multiple People Shot in Southeastern Kentucky

In southeastern Kentucky, multiple individuals were shot along Interstate 75 in what authorities have described as an 'active shooter situation.' The Laurel County Sheriff's Office reported on Facebook that 'numerous persons' were victimized near the highway, which has been subsequently shut down nine miles north of London.

Mayor Randall Weddle of London confirmed that seven people were hurt, although not all injuries resulted from gunfire; some were from a vehicle accident. Fortunately, there have been no fatalities, but Weddle asked the community to keep the victims in their prayers.

A 'Person of Interest' has been identified as Joseph A. Couch, a 32-year-old white male considered armed and dangerous. Authorities advise the public to avoid approaching him and to report any sightings to the county 911 center. Gov.
