Deadly Attack at Allenby Bridge: Jordanian Gunman Kills Three Israeli Civilians

A Jordanian truck driver killed three Israeli civilians at the Allenby Bridge border crossing before being shot dead by security forces. This is the first such attack since the conflict sparked by Hamas on October 7. The incident took place in a commercial area controlled by Israel.

A Jordanian truck driver killed three Israeli civilians at the Allenby Bridge border crossing in the occupied West Bank before being shot dead by security forces on Sunday, according to Israeli authorities.

This marks the first such attack along the Jordan-Israel border since October 7, when Hamas initiated an assault on southern Israel, prompting the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The attack occurred in a commercial cargo area where Jordanian trucks unload goods entering the West Bank.

The 39-year-old assailant, identified as a member of the influential Huwaitat tribe in southern Jordan, exited his truck and opened fire at Israeli security forces. The crossing, a vital link for trade, has since been closed for investigation.
