Eastern Front Tensions: Russian Advances and Ukrainian Resistance

Russian forces have continued their advance on the eastern front in the two-and-a-half-year conflict against Ukraine, capturing the village of Memryk, east of Pokrovsk, according to the Defence Ministry.

The Ukrainian military's General Staff did not mention Memryk, but war blogs reported its fall to Russian hands last week. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated that Ukrainian forces are maintaining their positions in the Donetsk region.

Reports from both sides could not be independently verified. The Russian Defense Ministry highlighted the capture of Memryk and other advances, whereas Ukrainian forces continue to resist and aim to degrade Russian combat capabilities.
