The opposition UDF has criticized the mass transfer of police personnel in Malappuram district, including Superintendent of Police S Sasidharan, accusing Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of settling a personal vendetta for a ruling MLA.
The Congress-led front questioned the rationale behind transferring Sasidharan, who they say had a commendable professional record. Sasidharan had been targeted with allegations by ruling LDF MLA P V Anvar.
Leader of Opposition V D Satheesan demanded an explanation from the Chief Minister, arguing that Sasidharan’s dismissal appears to serve Anvar’s agendas, calling Vijayan a 'coward' and alleging complicity in shielding senior police officers facing serious accusations.
