A case has been registered against a man named Gondraj Kamble in Maharashtra's Latur district for making a hoax call to the police, an official confirmed on Friday.
Kamble contacted the police helpline '112' around 10 pm on Monday, falsely reporting that five intoxicated individuals were disturbing residents and terrorizing children by throwing stones in Shivshakti Nagar.
The Udgir rural police team responded swiftly but found no miscreants at the scene. After speaking with local residents, police determined the call was false. Subsequent efforts to contact Kamble were unsuccessful, but the technical team traced his location. Upon questioning, Kamble eventually admitted to fabricating the story to cause trouble for the police. A case has been filed for providing false information and misusing the emergency helpline.
