In a significant administrative overhaul, the Punjab government on Monday transferred and issued new posting orders for 25 IAS officers and 99 PCS officers. The shake-up is aimed at aligning administrative functions with the state's evolving priorities.
Senior IAS officer Alok Shekhar, currently the additional chief secretary (ACS) for jails, has been given the additional responsibility of overseeing social justice, empowerment, and minorities. DK Tiwari has been appointed as ACS for transport, while Rahul Bhandari will now serve as the principal secretary for animal husbandry, dairy development, and fisheries.
Other notable transfers include Rahul Tiwari, who has gained additional charge of new and renewable energy sources, and Sandeep Hans, who has been posted as director of social justice, empowerment, and minorities. Sanyam Aggarwal will now serve as the commissioner of the municipal corporation in Bathinda, and H S Sudan has been assigned the role of special secretary for revenue.
