Monday saw sirens sounding in Haifa for the first time in months due to border-area tension, prompting the military to fire interceptors at Hezbollah rockets above the Haifa Bay. Fortunately, no damage was reported. The atmosphere on Tuesday was calm but tense.

The government's port authority issued a letter confirming that no changes had been made to the operation of Israeli ports, which ranged from Eilat in the far south to major Mediterranean ports like Haifa and Ashdod. The letter, seen by Reuters, assured vessels docking in Israel are covered by a state-backed insurance scheme.

"Following recent events, we find it necessary to reassure that our ports are fully open for business and functioning at full capacity," the letter stated. Israeli ports are deemed among the safest globally due to multi-layered security and advanced anti-rocket systems such as the Iron Dome.

Israel's transportation ministry, which oversees port administration, stated that all activities were coordinated with the military's home front command, and any changes in the security situation would be communicated immediately.
