The Himachal Pradesh High Court on Monday mandated the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to incorporate IPC sections concerning extortion in its probe into the Palampur businessman case.

Complainant Nishant Sharma has accused former Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjay Kundu of threatening his family and meddling in a property dispute. The court found the SIT's previous investigation to be inadequate, citing multiple lapses, including failing to examine key digital evidence like mobile phones and laptops.

The court instructed that all aspects, including financial disputes and political connections, be thoroughly investigated before the next hearing on November 5.
