Two senior Naxal leaders, identified as Rupesh and Jagdish, were among the three who were killed in a recent encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district, a top official reported on Tuesday. These senior cadres carried a combined bounty of Rs 41 lakh.

Rupesh, a notable member of the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC) and head of company no. 10 active in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli area, had a reward of Rs 25 lakh on his head. This makes him the third DKSZC member to be killed in encounters this year.

From the encounter site, security personnel recovered multiple firearms and explosives. The police have also reported a significant number of Naxal arrests and surrenders in the Bastar division this year.
