Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka and leaders convened with Muslim community representatives from Asifabad district on Tuesday to address recent communal disturbances ignited by an alleged rape and murder attempt against a tribal woman.
A joint meeting, including Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, is planned for September 28 or 29 to solidify peace efforts and prevent any future exploitation of communal tensions, according to a statement from Mohammed Ali Shabbir, government adviser on SC, ST, OBC, and minority affairs.
Attendees included Seethakka, Shabbir, Congress MLA Vedema Bhojju, MLC Dande Vittal, former Union Minister S Venugopal Chary, educationist Mahboob Alam Khan, special secretary Tafser Iqubal, and Asifabad Muslim representatives. They discussed restoring long-standing peaceful relations and addressing local differences to ensure community harmony.
