The Allahabad High Court issued a notice to a Member of Parliament, RK Chaudhary, over alleged election violations. The plea, filed by Gyani, asserted that Chaudhary secured votes through caste, community, and religious appeals in breach of Section 123(3) of the Representation of People Act, 1951.

Justice Jaspreet Singh of the Lucknow bench passed the order on Tuesday, highlighting that the charges require further consideration.

The subsequent hearing is set for November 19, where the court will deliberate whether Chaudhary's election from the Mohanlalganj Lok Sabha constituency should be annulled.
