Sanctioned Russian billionaire Andrey Guryev has emerged victorious in a lawsuit brought against him by a former friend, Alexander Gorbachev, who claimed a significant stake in the global fertiliser giant, Phosagro.
Gorbachev alleged he was owed a 24.75% share based on oral agreements, a claim dismissed by London's High Court due to inconsistencies and implausibilities.
Judge Mark Pelling ruled against Gorbachev, calling the case a 'shakedown.' Guryev, who was sanctioned by the U.S. and Britain in 2022 for his association with President Putin, did not comment through his spokesperson.
