Hezbollah Vows Swift Leadership Succession Amid Continued Conflict
Hezbollah's deputy chief, Naim Qassem, announced the group will elect a successor to slain secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah soon. Despite Nasrallah's death in an Israeli airstrike, Hezbollah vows to continue its resistance. Qassem emphasized their capability to strike deep into Israeli territory and blamed the U.S. for supporting Israel.
Hezbollah's deputy chief, Naim Qassem, announced Monday that the organization will swiftly choose a successor to its slain secretary-general, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike last Friday.
Qassem addressed supporters in a televised speech, emphasizing Hezbollah's ongoing commitment to resistance against Israel. He noted that the group's fighters have been able to launch rockets up to 150 kilometers into Israeli territory and are prepared for any potential ground incursion by Israel.
Highlighting Hezbollah's resilience, Qassem stressed that the group is appointing replacements for assassinated leaders and will continue to resist what he described as limitless U.S. support for Israel. He dismissed Israeli claims of significantly damaging Hezbollah's capabilities as unachievable fantasies.
