Teacher Arrested for Allegedly Molesting Students in Rajasthan

A government teacher has been arrested in Rajasthan's Tonk for allegedly molesting and showing obscene videos to fifth-grade girls, police reported on Monday. The education department has suspended the accused teacher.
Laiq Ahmed Qureshi, a teacher at the Government Higher Primary School in Gopalpura village, Jhilai block, appeared in court on Monday and has been remanded in judicial custody for 15 days. The incident reportedly took place on September 10, with Qureshi allegedly molesting the students and showing them obscene videos on his mobile phone.
Niwai police station in-charge Hariram Verma stated that the case was filed on Friday by the families of two girls in class 5. Qureshi has been arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and the investigation is ongoing.
