Two brothers were arrested for alleged torture and wife-swapping in the city, police said Friday. The incident came to light after a woman lodged a police complaint accusing her husband and brother-in-law of forcing her into wife-swapping. She also accused her in-laws of torturing her. The case was lodged on Thursday. When police reached the residence of the accused in Ballygunge today, a scuffle broke out with the accused as other family members tried to resist the arrest, police said. "We have arrested the two brothers and have started an investigation into the incident," a police official said.
The father of the arrested duo claimed that the allegations levelled against his sons were completely baseless and his younger daughter-in-law was trying to malign his family as his younger son was mulling divorce.
