A tragic incident has unfolded involving a 16-year-old boy who died in police custody after being accused of abducting a girl in Bijnor. The police reported the event on Monday, igniting concern over custodial procedures.

After the boy reportedly fled with a local girl, her family lodged an abduction complaint at Suohara Police Station. Authorities subsequently located the couple in Ambala on Sunday night. However, in a twist of events, the boy died under suspicious circumstances while in the care of Sub-inspector Sunil Kumar at his residence in Shamli.

While the investigation has not yet drawn any definitive conclusions, suspicions of suicide have been raised. The police have dispatched the boy's body for a postmortem, and Circle Officer Shyam Singh has confirmed the ongoing investigation.
