On Saturday, Bangladesh's Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus disclosed the imminent formation of a search committee tasked with revamping the Election Commission. This development was revealed amidst dialogues with key political parties held at the State Guest House Jamuna.
The 84-year-old economist, who assumed the advisory role following Sheikh Hasina's ouster, engaged with political parties including Gano Forum and Bangladesh Jatiya Party to address election reform and related issues. Participants pressed for the accountability of those involved in mass killings during recent protests.
In parallel, a public notice was issued by the International Crimes Tribunal seeking allegations of mass atrocities linked to the anti-discrimination movement. Meanwhile, political factions demanded a probe into the legitimacy of past parliamentary sessions, pushing for a non-partisan approach from the interim regime.
