Chief Justice of India, D Y Chandrachud, has opted to forgo his morning walks amid escalating air pollution levels in Delhi. Speaking informally to journalists, CJI Chandrachud emphasized his doctor's advice against outdoor activities to prevent respiratory issues.
During the interaction, the 50th Chief Justice, soon retiring on November 10, announced significant reforms, including removing the requirement of a law degree for journalists covering the Supreme Court, and granting them parking access within the premises.
He highlighted advancements like digitising judicial records and employing AI to translate judgments into regional languages, indicating retired judges help enhance AI translations. CJI Chandrachud also shared his plans to initially rest post-retirement.
