A dramatic incident unfolded at a Berlin train station as police launched a manhunt for a suspect who left behind a bag laden with explosives after being approached by officers. The explosive-laden bag prompted authorities to execute a controlled detonation nearby to ensure public safety.
Police were unable to identify the individual who abandoned the volatile cargo at the Neukoelln station on Wednesday afternoon. According to a social media post, the suspect made a hasty escape, leaving the dangerous contents in his wake.
The Bild newspaper has claimed that the bomb was composed of triacetone triperoxide (TATP), a notorious substance commonly linked to extremist incidents. However, police have yet to confirm the type of explosive used in the incident.
