The Nair Service Society (NSS), representing Kerala's influential Nair community, has appealed to the central government to form a National Commission dedicated to the concerns of economically weaker sections in advanced communities.
During an annual gathering commemorating Mannam Jayanthi, a resolution was passed urging the creation of this Commission, drawing parallels to existing commissions for SC/ST and minorities, according to NSS General Secretary G Sukumaran Nair.
The resolution also advocates for the founding of a National EWS Development Corporation to manage state-backed projects and offer affordable loans, enhancing the socio-economic standing of these groups. NSS continues to champion economic over caste reservations.
