The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has issued a directive to the NOIDA Authority, mandating the complete utilization of water treated in sewage treatment plants (STPs).

A tribunal bench, including NGT Chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava, has taken notice of the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority's (NOIDA) inadequate use of STP-treated water, which is instead being discharged into drains.

The NOIDA Authority admitted to using only 20% of the treated water, with the remainder discarded. To conserve natural water resources, the tribunal has demanded a comprehensive utilization plan within four weeks.
