AIMPLB Stands Against Proposed Waqf Amendment Bill

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) strongly opposes the Waqf Amendment Bill presented to Lok Sabha, alleging it overlooks Indian Muslims' opinions and threatens Waqf properties. The board pledges constitutional measures against its passage. Criticisms extend to other government moves perceived as undermining minority rights.

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has expressed strong opposition to the Waqf Amendment Bill recently tabled in the Lok Sabha. The board argues that the bill overlooks the opinions of the Indian Muslim community and pushes an arbitrary, undemocratic process.

AIMPLB President Khalid Saifullah Rahmani emphasized that the bill is based on religious discrimination and poses a direct threat to Waqf properties. He called for the government to withdraw the bill, affirming that Muslims should manage mosques and other religious sites, just as Sikhs and Hindus manage their sacred places.

The board also criticized the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand, viewing it as an anti-Muslim measure. AIMPLB has vowed to challenge these moves and urges Muslims to unite in defense of their rights under the constitution.
