In a twist to the ongoing Torres investment fraud investigation, Ukrainian actor Armen Ataine has filed for bail, asserting that he has no connections to the company implicated in the scam.

Represented by advocates Trupen Rathod and Vivek Tiwary, Ataine argues that his absence from the FIR underscores his innocence. He raises concerns that imprisonment could devastate his acting career.

The scandal, involving the firm Platinum Hern Pvt Limited and its Torres jewellery brand, has lured over 10,848 investors into Ponzi and multi-level marketing schemes, amassing fraudulent gains exceeding Rs 57 crore.
