Farmers Unite: Demand Legal Backing for MSP

A 28-member delegation representing agitating farmers is set to meet with the Central Government on February 14 to discuss issues like a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP). Farmer leaders, including Sarwan Singh Pandher, continue their protests, demanding substantial resolutions to their pressing concerns.

A delegation comprising 28 farmers' representatives is scheduled to meet with the Central Government on February 14. The meeting aims to address concerns such as a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP). Despite not receiving an invitation, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema expressed his willingness to attend.

This initiative follows four previous rounds of negotiations conducted last year that failed to yield any resolutions. Prominent farmer leaders, including Sarwan Singh Pandher, are participating. Sarwan Singh Pandher asserted the importance of reaching a concrete solution in these discussions.

The continued protests, led by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, emphasize demands like debt waivers, pension plans, and no hikes in electricity tariffs, alongside justice for victims of previous agitations.
