A harrowing incident unfolded at a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Lamsang, Manipur, where a jawan took the lives of two colleagues and injured eight others before committing suicide.
Identified as Havildar Sanjay Kumar, the jawan reportedly opened fire with his service weapon, leading to a tragic scene at around 8:20 pm in the Imphal West district. A constable and a sub-inspector were killed instantly, while eight other personnel were rushed to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for treatment.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear as authorities conduct a thorough investigation. Senior officials from the police and CRPF are on the ground, assessing the situation. No official statement has been issued by the CRPF at this time.
