The government has opened applications for the pivotal roles of chairperson and three full-time members at the National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA), the independent regulatory body critical to shaping auditing and financial reporting standards in India.

To qualify for the position of chairperson, applicants must possess at least 25 years of notable expertise in fields such as accountancy, auditing, finance, or law, along with evidence of eminence and integrity. Full-time member applicants are required to have 20 years of experience in these sectors. The appointment offers a significant salary package, reassuring prospective candidates of their financial recognition.

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has set a deadline of March 3 for application submissions. Prospective appointees must demonstrate a lack of conflicts of interest and are barred from associations with any audit firms during their tenure and two years post-office.
