In a major diplomatic stride, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alongside US President Donald Trump, emphasized the urgency for Pakistan to swiftly bring the perpetrators of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks to justice. The two leaders convened at the White House for their inaugural meeting following Trump's re-election.

During a joint media briefing, President Trump announced the approval of Tahawwur Rana's extradition to India. Recognizing the mutual goal of combating terrorism, Trump noted, "He is going back to India to face justice." The decision signifies a united front by India and the US in the fight against terrorism.

The joint statement highlighted reinforced cooperation against terrorist factions such as Al-Qaeda, ISIS, Jaish-e Mohammad, and Lashkar-e-Tayyiba.
