Tension Rises in Assam Village After Brutal Attack

In Assam's remote Morigaon district, a family was brutally attacked, leading to the arrest of four individuals, a police official confirmed. The incident has heightened tensions in Garumara Dalani village, as it stems from a conflict over land use.

The violence erupted when a group targeted village women with sharp weapons while the men were at work. Notably, this was reported to the authorities in Mayong more than a day after the attack occurred.

Local law enforcement detained 11 individuals, arresting four thus far as others remain elusive. Meanwhile, Assam's Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika assured constituents that lawlessness will be addressed firmly, while security has been intensified to safeguard the community.
