A US military aircraft landed in Amritsar late Saturday night, deporting 116 illegal Indian immigrants, mostly from Punjab, as part of the Trump administration's stringent immigration policies. Official sources reported the aircraft touched down at 11:35 pm, slightly delayed.

This marks the second instance of Indian deportations by the US in recent weeks. The first flight, arrived on February 5, saw many deportees narrating tales of being duped by agents while aiming for a better life. Hailing from various Indian states, these individuals were sent back after being caught at the US border.

Punjab leaders, including Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, expressed concerns over Amritsar becoming a deportation hub. Mann emphasized state support for those deported and criticized the central government's handling of the situation. Meanwhile, Punjab's police initiated probes into fraudulent travel agents exploiting aspiring migrants.
