Top Army Brass Asserts Readiness Amid Akhnoor Tensions

Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar reviewed the operational readiness of troops in the Akhnoor sector in Jammu. His visit followed an IED explosion that claimed the lives of two army personnel. The evaluation included updates on strategies along the Line of Control and preventive measures.

In a strategic move to evaluate military preparedness, Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar visited the Akhnoor sector on Friday. His inspection comes in the wake of a deadly IED blast that took the lives of two army personnel, including a captain, near the Line of Control.

During the visit, Lt Gen Kumar was joined by Lieutenant General Navin Sachdeva, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Jammu-based White Knight Corps, demonstrating high-level attention to the volatile region. Their agenda was to assess the operational readiness and resilience of the troops stationed there.

The Udhampur-based Northern Command highlighted that Lt Gen Kumar was briefed on the assertive posture and proactive measures recently adopted by the forces to ensure peace and security in the region, acknowledging the complexities of the security landscape along the Line of Control.
