A BNP leader was brutally murdered on Friday afternoon in Dhamrai upazila, Dhaka, amid a long-standing housing dispute. Mohammad Babul Mia, a former vice-president of the BNP's local unit, fell victim to a fatal attack while harvesting mustard with his wife.

Babul's wife, Yasmin Begum, reported that local criminals, identified as Afsar, Arshad, and Monir, had been threatening them prior to the attack. The assailants reportedly used sticks and SS pipes in the attack, leaving Babul seriously injured. Horrifically, they also gouged out his eyes, preventing any immediate medical help.

Despite efforts by locals to intervene, Babul succumbed to his injuries on arrival at Savar Enam Medical College Hospital, where he was declared dead. Local police confirmed that investigations are underway and arrests of those involved are actively being pursued.
