Members of the Maratha Kranti Morcha attempted to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday in Pune to discuss the unresolved murder of Massajog sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh. However, police swiftly removed them from the location.
The Maratha activists aimed to highlight the inaction of the state home department regarding an absconding suspect, despite evidence being available through phone call records. They sought the intervention of the Home Minister to expedite the investigation.
The incident coincided with Shah's participation in the 27th meeting of the Western Zonal Council, which includes states like Gujarat, Goa, Maharashtra, and the Union Territories. The council addresses various socio-legal issues, including the fast-tracking of sexual offence cases.
