In a significant administrative shake-up, three officers from the Maharashtra Forest Department were suspended following an inquiry into alleged misconduct in Tiroda taluka of Gondia district. The officers were accused of fabricating records and misappropriating funds by falsely claiming a man was killed by a wild boar.

The suspended officials include Tiroda Forest Range Officer R.G. Moon and Assistant Forest Range Officers Shailendra Pardhi and Abdul Shakeel Abdul Durani. An official report suggested that during last monsoon, a nursery plantation was initiated under their watch in Tiroda, which led to several complaints of irregular practices.

An official investigation determined that the individual in question had actually died from a fall from a tree, rather than an animal attack. Following these findings, the officers were suspended by the conservator of forests while further probes continue into the involvement of additional personnel.
