The patwaris and kanungos of Himachal Pradesh's Revenue Department have been elevated to state cadre status, according to a notification from Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla.

Previously serving as district cadre employees, these officials are now part of a restructured hierarchy, with immediate changes in appointing and disciplinary authorities.

The new status will centralize seniority management at the directorate level and continue recruitment and promotions under current rules until further amendments.
