Assistant Superintendent of Police Gazalpreet Kaur reported that Kamaljit Singh, 56, was handling his .303 rifle when the unfortunate incident occurred, possibly due to the rifle not being on safety mode.

Singh's son, who was present, mentioned his father's recent unwell condition. The authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the accident.
