Security Forces Uncover Maoist Arms Cache in West Singhbhum

Security forces dismantled two Maoist camps and seized a significant cache of arms and ammunition in West Singhbhum district. Acting on intelligence, the operation was carried out in forested areas near several villages. Recovered items included rifles, ammunition, and communication devices.

Security forces have uncovered and dismantled two Maoist camps, seizing a large cache of arms and ammunition in West Singhbhum district, senior police officials reported on Tuesday.

Operating on a tip-off, the combined team of CRPF and local police conducted searches throughout the forested regions under the Tonto police station's jurisdiction, specifically targeting Sarjamburu, Tumbahaka, Purty Tola, and Jimkiekir villages.

The operation led to the discovery of substantial weaponry, including an M-16 rifle and bolt action rifles, alongside various magazines and ammunition, as confirmed at a press briefing by Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar.
