In the ongoing investigation into the murder of NTPC official Kumar Gaurav, police detained two additional suspects in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh district, raising the total number of individuals held to eight, authorities announced on Sunday.
Gaurav, 40, who served as the deputy general manager (dispatch) at NTPC's Keredari Coal Mines, was fatally shot by two armed men on a motorcycle Saturday morning. The tragic incident occurred near Fatah More in the Katkamdag police station area while Gaurav was en route to the coal mine from his residence in Hazaribagh town, police reported.
The murder has provoked unrest among the workforce at Keredari Coal Mines, leading to a strike demanding increased security measures. Police Superintendent Arvind Kumar Singh stated that arrests would follow based on the suspects' interrogations.
