Bribery Scandal: Police Officer Suspended in Viral Video

A sub-inspector in Shahjahanpur district has faced suspension after a video allegedly showing him accepting a bribe went viral. The suspension came following an inquiry confirming the misconduct.

According to Superintendent of Police Rajesh S, the officer, identified as Anil Kumar, was shown in the video accepting Rs 2,000 from the brother of a road accident accused, a case dating back two months. The inquiry was conducted by Jalalabad Circle Officer Amit Chaurasia.

Superintendent Rajesh S confirmed the immediate suspension of Kumar and indicated that departmental proceedings have been initiated against him. The incident has prompted calls for transparency and accountability within the police force.
