Karnataka's Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H K Patil expressed deep concern over the recent sexual assault against an Israeli tourist and a homestay operator near Hampi, describing the incident as highly unfortunate.
During a press briefing, Patil committed to working closely with Home Minister G Parameshwara, aiming to convene a meeting with senior officers to discuss and implement more effective security measures. The goal is to ensure tourists' safety and prevent repeat incidents in the future.
The minister also indicated that the government is considering a comprehensive review of security, particularly in light of concerns about drug and ganja abuse in areas near Hampi such as Anegundi. This review will focus on the safety protocols of homestays and resorts to safeguard visitors.
