Mournful events unfolded as the wife of Sanjay Singh, the deputy commissioner of GST in Ghaziabad, disclosed that her husband was overwhelmed by enormous work pressure before his tragic suicide. Contrary to earlier reports, she asserted that he was not suffering from stage four cancer.
The heartbreaking incident occurred on Monday at Apex Athena Society, where Singh, aged 59, allegedly jumped from the 15th floor around 11 am. His wife, Aparna Singh, lamented that he was burdened by the system's demands. Dhananjay Singh, his cousin, clarified that Sanjay had been diagnosed with early-stage prostate cancer, which was successfully treated.
Aparna described her late husband as a cancer survivor who had assisted others with similar diagnoses. The family, including his wife and two sons, now copes with the void left by Sanjay, as the elder son works in Gurugram and the younger son pursues university education.
