A special NIA court in Mohali has handed down life sentences to six members of the Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) for orchestrating a terror scheme involving smuggling arms and explosives into Punjab using drones in 2019.

The convicted individuals have ties to internationally designated terrorists Gurmeet Singh, also known as Bagga, based in Germany, and Ranjeet Singh, known as Neeta, based in Pakistan. Three additional individuals received ten-year periods of rigorous imprisonment for their participation in the plot.

According to an NIA spokesperson, the convicts were found guilty of violating several legal statutes, including the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, along with laws governing arms and explosives. The investigation, which the NIA took over from Amritsar police in October 2019, revealed that the convicts coordinated the delivery of weapons and fake currency into the Tarn Taran district through drones.
