In a significant development in the land-for-jobs case, a Delhi court on Tuesday granted bail to Tej Pratap Yadav and Hema Yadav, who are the son and daughter of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. Special Judge Vishal Gogne allowed the bail on the condition of a Rs 50,000 bond each.

The court had previously issued summonses to the accused individuals over allegations related to Group D appointments in the West Central Zone of the Indian Railways during Lalu's tenure as the Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009. These appointments were allegedly linked to the transfer of land parcels to Lalu's family.

Filed on May 18, 2022, the case includes charges against Lalu, his wife Rabri Devi, their two daughters, and several unknown public officials and private individuals. Lalu, Rabri, and their daughter Misa Bharti had earlier filed applications seeking exemptions from personal court appearances.
