Call for Unity: Telangana's All-Party Meeting on Constituency Delimitation

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka urged state parties to join a Congress-led all-party meeting on constituency delimitation. Concerns are rising that delimitation based on population could harm Telangana’s interests. Vikramarka and K Jana Reddy, in an open letter, emphasized the importance of fair representation.

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has called on political parties in the state to participate in an all-party meeting organized by the Congress government, focusing on the crucial issue of constituency delimitation. The meeting aims to prevent any injustice against Telangana in this process.

Vikramarka, in collaboration with senior Congress figure K Jana Reddy, penned an open letter highlighting the potential negative impact of delimitation based on population. They warned that such a method could compromise Telangana's political representation.

At a press briefing following the state cabinet's decision, Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy alleged that the central NDA government intends to disadvantage southern states through this exercise. He asserted that the number of constituencies in South India should increase proportionately to avoid regional disparities.
