Finland has pledged to be part of a "coalition of the willing" aimed at bolstering Ukraine's security, Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen revealed in an interview with Britain's Times Radio. This coalition is in response to efforts spearheaded by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, alongside France and other nations, to prepare support plans for Ukraine if a peace deal emerges from Russia's ongoing conflict.

"We are undoubtedly part of this coalition," Valtonen stated, emphasizing Finland's commitment to contributing its capabilities to aid Ukraine's self-security. She also noted Finland's broader obligation to secure the rest of Europe, ensuring their active participation in the coalition's endeavors.

Despite its unwavering support for Ukraine, Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo underscored Finland's stance against sending soldiers to Ukraine, highlighting its imperative to safeguard national defense given its extensive border with Russia. Orpo confirmed Finland's active dialogue in the coalition discussions but firmly ruled out any peacekeeping mission involvement.
