South Africa is set to host its inaugural G20 Trade and Investment Working Group (TIWG) meeting from March 18 to March 20, 2025, as part of its presidency year theme, 'Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability'. The Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC) made the announcement this Wednesday.
The virtual conference will convene senior officials from G20 member nations, the European Union, and the African Union. Additional participation will come from international organizations such as the World Trade Organisation and the United Nations Trade and Development.
Key agenda topics include boosting trade with a focus on inclusivity and sustainability, addressing global trade challenges, green industrialisation, and the reform of the WTO. These discussions aim to bolster global economic resilience and foster international cooperation.
