Pakistan has accused India of sponsoring terrorism while refraining from directly tying it to the recent Balochistan train attack, which resulted in the loss of 21 lives. During a press briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan addressed the incident, which involved a prolonged hostage situation spanning over 24 hours.
The spokesperson highlighted that the terrorists were in direct communication with planners based in Afghanistan. Pakistan has urged Afghanistan to stop allowing its territory to be used by terrorist groups like the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and to bring those behind these acts to justice. Despite the focus on Afghanistan in this incident, Pakistan maintains its stance that India is involved in terrorism against them.
The situation remains tense as Pakistan implements a multi-pronged anti-terrorism strategy, which includes military efforts and diplomatic entreaties. Meanwhile, measures regarding Afghan citizens in Pakistan and reports concerning potential US travel bans on Pakistani nationals further complicate the regional and international dynamics.
