A driver in Mumbai has been apprehended over allegations of molesting a 23-year-old female member of the Royal Australian Navy, according to police reports on Monday.
The incident allegedly took place at 11:30 pm at the Mumbai Port Trust's Green Gate on Saturday, during which the 32-year-old suspect, Anil Sharanappa Kamble, was driving the military personnel to her ship.
The victim reported that Kamble attempted inappropriate physical contact under the guise of a handshake, prompting her to inform ship colleagues who then alerted authorities. Kamble faces charges under section 74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and remains in police custody.
