A Pakistani court has sanctioned a two-day physical remand for journalist Waheed Murad, who was transferred to the Federal Investigation Agency's custody. This decision follows complaints from his family, who allege he was forcibly taken from his home by unidentified individuals.

Following his family's accusations of Murad's abduction in the early hours at his Islamabad home, he was presented before Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah, who endorsed the FIA's request for a two-day remand. The agency informed the court of charges under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act.

Murad’s family has petitioned the Islamabad High Court for his recovery, linking his detention to his criticism of recent alleged disappearances of journalists. The family reported that forces claiming to check for Afghan nationals forcibly entered their home, leading to his detention.
