In a shocking incident in Delhi's Vasant Vihar, a 79-year-old woman was attacked during an attempted burglary by a man who once worked as her domestic help. The suspect, identified as Suresh Paswan, was arrested in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar, police sources revealed on Thursday.

The crime unfolded on February 1 when Paswan allegedly forced entry into the elderly woman's residence, attacking her with the intent to rob. The assault happened around 3:30 pm while the victim was alone in her second-floor flat. However, the arrival of her family forced Paswan to make a hasty retreat using a plastic rope.

Despite his efforts to remain elusive by frequently changing his phone number, law enforcement officials were able to track him down, leading to his arrest. The police investigation involved scrutinizing over 50 CCTV cameras and interviewing numerous household workers. An FIR on attempted murder has been filed and further inquiries are underway.
